Welcome to a new edition of the Global Reggae Charts!
GLOBAL REGGAE CHARTS
The last issue of the Global Reggae Charts magazine for 2017 is out now. This month, you’ll find that we implemented one major update: the album charts, just like the single charts, now feature 20 LPs. This was made possible thanks to the increased number of votes we gave to every voter – a novum we introduced last month and about which I wrote in last edition‘s editorial. In doing so, we achieved clearer, more distinct results among albums that didn’t make the Top 10. This is a great step forward as it allows us to make more room for releases that are clearly popular but didn’t make the cut before.
This month’s edition features the In.Digg.Nation Collection around reggae superstar Protoje.
The featured voter for the month is Dominic Reuben from Oslo Reggae Show at Nova Radio, Norway.
On the single charts, we have a lot of new entries.
On the album charts, we have a general change. Starting this month, we are publishing top 20 positions as we are doing on the single charts. Therefore we have a lot of new entries over here as well.
The charts are online and can be found at www.globalreggaecharts.com.
Interview with Dominic Reuben
Greetings! I am Dominic Reuben, a reggae selector from the UK now living in Oslo, Norway. The Oslo Reggae Show is every Tuesday from 9:30 – 11:30 pm on RadioNova. The first hour is all about fresh releases – and once a month the Global Reggae Charts – and in the second hour my musical compadre Selecta Harmony plays a deep roots and culture selection, mostly on vinyl.
