Mosiah Short Bio

Akeil ‘Mosiah’ Martin was born in Trinidad as son of a Rastafari father. He grew up within the musical vibe and culture of the Caribbean. Reggae Music and Rastafari are the way of life for Mosiah. For Mosiah, they are two sides of the very same coin.

Mosiah has been in love with music from the beginning. The young lad started building his sound system with a friend at the age of 13. He performed on local stages and even won a talent show in South Trinidad. Mosiah e started growing dreadlocks and committing to the Teachings of Rastafari. His friends soon started calling him Mosiah. They named him after the Honourable Marcus Mosiah Garvey.

While constantly performing music as a major part of his life, he started to look deeper into Rastafari. This talented artist moved to the House of Nyabinghi and later to Bobo Hill.  He followed his duty as a priest building an even deeper foundation for his music.

After he became known as a fyah youth in Trinidad’s music scene his musical journey lead him to Europe. He gathered experience touring as lead vocalist of the Yard Vibez Crew before he joined forces with Germany based Sound Generators Band.

The single “Reggae Sweet”, was released in October 2017. This reggae tune was an international hit. The debut EP “Chant Tafari” followed.
